Q&A with Marci

1. Tell us about your path here. Why did you choose to join TEG Consulting?

Over two decades ago, I worked together with our Founder Rick DeRose at Cable and Wireless. A year into launching TEG Consulting (back then, called TEG Solutions), he asked me to join the firm. As I was living in New York City at the time, the opportunity to open the NY market was very exciting to me. Having a close friendship and business relationship with Rick, and knowing the potential growth of the business, I found it hard to resist the opportunity and have been with the firm for 24 years and counting!

2. Describe a day in the life of Marci. Favorite parts of your job?

When I am not working from my home office, you can find me traveling to meet a client or candidate. There is nothing more powerful than in-person face time.

Building relationships with clients and candidates on a personal and professional level is hands down the best part of my day. In this industry, developing and maintaining personal connections is essential to delivering a great result and search experience for both parties.

3. What is special about working here?

Our people. You will not find a better group of colleagues who perform their jobs with this level of commitment, integrity, and kindness.

4. How has TEG Consulting helped you grow and perform at your best?

Having spent over 20 years in the business, you grow from experiences. It is important to me that my clients have a deep level of confidence and trust that my team and I will perform for them, even if it means running through walls for them. In this business, your reputation is everything. Some of my clients have been with me for two decades. I’ve learned that if you always do the right thing, positive results, relationships, and reputation follow!

5. In what ways — big or small — do you live out our mission of unleashing human potential?

Learning. Whether I am exploring what is important to our clients, keeping up with new industry trends, or gaining insights from business leaders, my role requires developing and integrating new knowledge, skills, and judgment. To me, learning also entails looking within and reflecting on how I can personally get better. To be successful in anything that you do, you need to stay curious.

6. What advice do you have for people looking to join TEG Consulting? What qualities do people need to be successful here?

I really believe that when you join this company, you are joining a family. To be successful here, you need to be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial ‘do whatever it takes’ mentality.
