Q&A with Ethel

1. Tell us about your path here. Why did you choose to join TEG Consulting?

I spent most of my career in senior project manager roles with global press and event companies, managing events up to 8,000 attendees and $1 million budgets. I first started as a press assistant to the communications director of the G7 Economic Summit and press secretary of the office of the vice president at The White House.

As I sought my next opportunity, workplace flexibility was high on my list of requirements so that I could uphold my responsibilities to my family. I also knew I wanted to join a fun, collaborative team. Once I learned that TEG Consulting checked both boxes, I knew I would be happy — and I am!

2. Describe a day in the life of Ethel. Favorite parts of your job?

In a nutshell: there is never a dull moment. My days are exciting, full of teamwork, and varied. On any given day, I’m shifting between strategizing research to sourcing and reaching out to candidates to scheduling calls and meetings. A fantastic aspect of this job is how collaboratively we work. Whether it is working directly with our clients, exchanging search strategies with my coworkers, or simply working across our sister companies, everything we accomplish is a team effort.

3. What is special about working here?

The satisfaction that comes from placing the perfect candidate to serve each of our clients. And if I did not make myself clear already: we have a great group of people. There is something special about being a part of a team so dedicated to the success of the clients and candidates we support.

4. How has TEG Consulting helped you grow and perform at your best?

TEG Consulting has made me realize that there is always room to learn and grow. I’m constantly expanding my industry knowledge and getting up to speed on the latest executive search trends and skills. I am also encouraged to stay engaged, ask questions, and seek help if I feel like I do not have the resources needed to succeed.

5. In what ways — big or small — do you live out our mission of unleashing human potential?

As senior project coordinator, my top priority is helping the team seamlessly and efficiently manage each search. We are always striving to find better talent faster. The best way I can put it is that I view my role as unleashing the full potential of our team.

6. What advice do you have for people looking to join TEG Consulting? What qualities do people need to be successful here?

Be perceptive about the next step needed at any point in a search. This work requires a big picture mentality and the ability to see around corners. To be successful, you must be able to take extreme ownership, have a self-starter mentality, and be ruthlessly detail-oriented.
